I have a scrap e scooter and i was looking at the brake lever and noticed that it uses a normal brake cable run to a disc brake it the rear, but it also has 3 wires coming from it.
When i opened up the lil panel where the wires were i seen it ended in like a little sealed knot sorta thing with a chip of some sort embedded in it. Im thinking that this was some kind of way to activate a brake light.

I have a MB and have been looking at brake levers with built in brake light switches for my build and want to know if I can use this lever.
So if anyone has any knowledge of how and what exactly this does(hopefully what im needing it to) then please let me know

The pics are of the brake lever, the compartment the wires reside and the end of the wires as they were in the housing.
Thanks

Sorry here's the pics

Magnetic switch. As the magnet moves past the sensor/switch it makes & breaks the circuit.

I was thinking the same but i tried hooking a led to it and it just stays on it doesn't shut off

It might need a controller to actually turn the lights on and off and may only act as a signal.
I think your right.
Ive hooked it up every way I can think of, even took it apart and tried manually putting the magnet to the switch,
i can make the lights get brighter for the brake light and all but the magnet has no effect on the lights.
It either needs a controller or the switch is bad either way, no bueno
