Hello everyone, I'm a SoCal commuter who's decided to dump the cars and go for bikes - came across this forum when doing some research and found absolutely the best information yet. These gas prices are absolutely killing me... it costs five bucks a day just to get to work and back, and that's all I'm using the car for!

I've got a couple of projects in mind; one is just slapping an engine on a standard mountain bike and the other is taking my Burning Man workman trike and cutting it up into an ape hanging chopper - definitely need to get the mountain bike up and running quick though - gas is making my life difficult.

Thanks for all the great information and ideas ya'll freely share, I definitely hope to be contributing my own experiences shortly.
