Yes hard drive magnets are very strong but from my experience I have taken one apart they are not worth my time to try it again not fun not to mention the fact that the torx screws are extremly small I doubt very many people would even have the proper bit to take them apart it's just not meant to be something you get into. . For what $20.00 or so you can by one of those magnets made for the bikes
