I'm not getting any spark. There's definitely compression, but it just won't fire up. Is there something that needs removed from the spark plug, or do you figure I should get a new spark plug or cdi.

when you don't see a spark, it could still have power but the plug is bad - hold plug in hand with hand against top of motor and roll the bike to see if you feel the spark

Yeah I decided to do this. It does spark and I thought so because I could feel the bike wanting to fire, but it's a dark orange spark, so I'll go look at a different one.

that's a bad method since you will feel any voltage, whereas to get a spark you need to have a certain minimum voltage.
And on top of that even more voltage is needed when the spark plug is installed since the engine compression makes it harder to spark.
Just check it at night so you can see even a faint spark.
If it's less than normal then just buy another stator coil.

o already replaced 2 sparkplug's ... so yes agree with the above

So you think it's the coils rather than the plug? I figured I'd try a plug first since they're about 8 times cheaper.

those coils are the most unreliable part of the engine.
But many times the problem is just plain ignorance on the part of the owner.
The screws contact with the stator coil frame are the ground return path for the spark current. (and owners don't know that)
Completely scape off the shellac there for a good electrical pathway.

Alright, I'll go look at that tomorrow and see what I can do. Thanks for the input.
