Rack-Mounting An Airplane Engine

theres a link around here somewhere of an inventor who straped a backpack with onboard engine with prop to propell himself around, i also remember seeing a video of some guy on utube flying around between hangers at a local airfield with a prop stuck on the back of his bike as well.....

Vegas, not actually "flying around", but the bike was being motivated on the ground at maybe 15-20 mph, according to the utube video I saw.

I remembered this one. Here's the thread. He didn't get very good support here so he
must have moved on. There are a lot of opinions here at MBc. You have to push past the
negative ones and move forward. I think he should have hung in here. I thought it was a bit
loud but very cool.

Skyliner, how about the Zenoah G62 airplane engine? They also use it on the Pro 60 Go-ped.

Yes, probably one of the few engines that would work (Fuji engines are possibly another). Zenoah have good reputation for being very reliable. They are looked down upon by snobs in the model airplane hobby because they are slightly heavier than other engines and not quite as powerful as the Desert Aviation or Cactus 3W engines. They appear to have a larger fin area for cooling and have standard magneto ignition so no battteries would be required.

I'd say, give it a try. The carburation would be far superior to any happy time engine.
