Recession affects on motorized bikes sales

Then you would have to create a bike that wouldn't fall apart.
A belt driven, 50cc 4 stroke, disc brakes, full lights with signals, front suspension, ect and everything bolted with loctite would be a perfect bike for the market. Even Loc Nuts are resistant to shaking off from vibration, in fact I plan to use those on my next build. But I've used loctite in my final assembly and nothing has loosened yet.
So building a simple, easily operatable and safe bike like that would be perfect. Then you just have regular maintenance the owner would have to do.

Pretty much build a bike that takes the same experience to maintain a mower.

hand made, I'm guessing it would cost more than a good moped or vespa-style scooter & totally rule out the HT engines

brings to mind a question tho "how many here think of these as transportation and how many as just a hobby?"

should that be a new thread?
