Two Stroke Emissions

is someTHING to think about

Two stroke lawn equipment in various communities across the country have been banned. All because of noise and smoke.

is someTHING to think about

would think that the day will be coming in most parts of the (USA anyway)
when most if not all two strokes will be banned
seems now would be the right time for importers to start
thinking ahead
many won't like the thought of this
but -- 4-strokes may be the only THING in the future -- sold new anyway

as we ride those THINGS

2 strokes emit a lot of unburnt hydrocarbons.,due to unburnt mixture escaping from the exhaust port or to misfiring at low throttle.Newer designs like the Mitsu. TLE 43 are much improved due to stratified scavenging. There are very few 2 strokes left on the road nowadays, most of them small displacement MB's I think. The contribution of these is very small in this country.Go to Asia and it's a very different situation, there they are the backbone of cheap transportation and the pollution in urban centers is horrendous.I speak from experience.I still have a RD 400 which I ride occasionally without feeling all that guilty about it
