I actually achieved this without much help, possibly being too close to Canada for too long did it. Also my mother always taught me that the tighter the leather and the colder the chains the more fun there is to have.

Believe it or not but the chain is the ONLY part holding the tank in place now. It's actually quite secure, even more so than previously, even works better than using original studs.

Its got 6 points of contact on the frame with selftap screws. The "box" around the gascap keeps the tank from rotating or sliding along the length of the bike. It's significantly easier to remove the tank as a side effect as well.

I bought 6 feet but don't remember how much extra I had, it took like an hour to break the chain down into individual links and relink to what you see in the picture. The simplistic nature of the chain makes it a breeze to play with and the price is just so reasonable that it's hard to resist going a little crazy with it.
