Hello all,

I just put my first bike together out of a frame that I have had since I was 13. For 5 glorious minutes I cruised the streets of my little mining community....then my chain fell off.

So, now I wait for a new master link to come in the mail.

I plan on commuting with this thing.

Thanks man! I painted it like Edward Van Halen's guitar more than a decade ago (you probably knew that). Thanks for replying, I was starting to feel lonely.

Welcome to MBc.
You won't be lonely here long, lol, just a time zone thing and the board is quiet
right now. Jump right in and yeah I recall there are a few members here from UT.

welcome -- nice looking MB

your picture of you MB looks like you have the tensioner on top chain ???

if so -- this is the power pullings side of chain (top side)
bottom may we call more of the return side of chain

all motorcycles with tensioners -- ride the bottom

think about this
if we have a tensioner in there and pull very hard on the chain -- much stress to tensioner

Thanks all. The chain that you see in the picture is actually the bicycle chain. The motor chain came off and wrapped around the wheel....and I came to a very abrupt stop. I think that my butt ate a little bit of the seat. However, I put the tension pulley on the bottom out of sheer luck. So, I still appreciate the advice and technical description.

hey roasterx..... your tensioner IS correctly installed. The bottom run of chain (return side) goes over the top of the idler wheel.... as you probably already know.

as shown, in random pics: http://www.motoredbikes.com/album.php?albumid=607&pictureid=3658
