I'm about to pull the trigger on a 100cc motor. I was wondering if these breathe like the 80cc motors? Do I have to open up the exhaust to get it to breathe properly?

They perform just about the same, just with a bit more torque. The yd/ld 100 I have heard is a great engine, but it does need porting to open up more performance

I was looking at this one because it's cheap. I have had a lot of good luck with the 80cc cheap ones.

One is the same as any I'd think. It looks like a ld100, maybe not. It's gonna be whatever you make it. You can overhaul the bottom end to make it a real nice engine

Upgrade bearings, balance and true crank, maybe a little case stuffing. How fast do you want this engine to be?

Then a good balanced and teue crank with good balance should be all you need. I suggest you search on porting. You can port for top or bottom end power.
