So I bought a 80cc China motor off of eBay. Lasted about three months. Are there or is there an American made motor supplier that's not $250 for a motor.

to my knowledge there are none - also, 90% of fails are due to rider expecting bike to be more than it actually is in terms of required, almost daily, adjustments

the bicycle was not designed to be shaken by a motor and things need adjusting & tightening all the time

Pretty sure the adjustments were made everyday. Checked and checked. Junk is junk from the start.

a pre-2012 motor can shake the mains loose if run at over about 25mph, but we don't see many of those anymore

I have some customers that run WOT from the time it starts till they get where they're going, and this creates some problems for them too.

what failed on your motor?

Just FYI, there is no such thing as an 80cc, they are all 66cc.

Their are no American manufactures, but the YangDong factory puts out top quality work, that is where the real Grubee Skyhawk GT5 engines are made. If you just need a new engine a good deal at $130.

I did ride it hard sometimes. It was a everyday rider. Do you think all of my accessories will work on that new motor? I am gonna buy one.

a lot depends on whether you had 6mm studs or 8mm studs, and whether new motor comes with the mounting studs - if new motor has all mounting h/w, you just change over

looks like old motor was run without enough oil, is that what happened?

I guess so, I ran it 20-1 and always has oil on my exhaust tip. New motor will be run 6 oz to a gallon then 4 1/2 to a gallon after break-in
