After months of planning - here is my first build

I've been working on this project for a few months and have got'er running great!



So here is the finished product - it is a 7 speed Macargi beach cruiser with a custom machined mount for the 49cc Grubee Skyhawk motor. I have replaced the stock spark plug with a NGK B6S which has increased the overall performance of the bike.

I have a 4L fuel tank and a upgraded exhaust. Here are a few more pictures.



My next upgrades will be to add [FONT=arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif]a pannier (rear rack) as well as a retro head light. What do you guys think!?[/FONT]

Nice bike choice Citrik, I like the Macargi Pantera 7-S to build on too.

You said you used a 49cc SKyhawk (they are 48cc) but it must be an old one as yours has an old NT carb and they have shipped with CNS carbs since 2010.
That's OK with a 48, especially with an expansion chamber, and they are a solid motor.

How did you do your handlebars?
I move the shifter to the left side and put a dual-pull brake lever on the right.

It looks like you have your rear sprocket cupped out, isn't that causing chain jump with both rag joints in? Or did you leave the outer rag out and cup out? I hope not.

The sprocket fits over the rear hub and aligns perfect to the motor cupped in with both rags, you just have to trim the fender for the chain.

One other note is the NGK BRP7HIX Iridium plug is a far better plug you will REALLY feel a difference with over the B6S.

You mentioned a Panner, I just built this Pantera for an extremely short woman with a back rack and collapsible rear baskets. It is a bit tricky to get the rack rails around the fender but they work well and get out of your way when not in use.

Someone mentioned a shift kit for these, yes, they work great on the Pantera too.

You can even drop a 49cc 4-stroke shifter in them.

Note that on 4-strokers I have the bike shop replace the 7-speed with a 3-speed internal so I can use fatter chain and 3 gears is plenty with a 4-stroke to go 0-20MPH in 4 seconds, 0-40MPH in ~8 seconds. The 7-speed works well with 2-strokers however and just got the parts in to start another 2-stroke shifter tomorrow.
