How many Whizzer people?

Risk man, It would help me out if you could send me pictures of that whizzer saddle bag. Inside and out and hinges and snaps. I can’t find an original looking set so im gonna have to DIY. May be with a yard stick fir measurements.

If i get good at making them i might sell some.
Wow... That would be awesome. I loved the bags before I bought the bike and have searched for a similar pair for my red NE5. They need restoring which I am going to start today. Got some neatsfoot oil from my local old school leather man (shoe maker). I would be glad to break it down for you and you can make the first set for sale to me! Stand by.

Here you go. I cleaned and refurbished them with Neatsfoot oil this evening and took some measurements for you

Well if you guys dont have any luck with making or finding saddle bags. I'm a leather worker as well as a knife maker/ certified auto/diesel tech. I could make some saddle bags for the whizzers.

Can you give me some idea how much you would charge for a set? How long would it take you? With the new Biden Inflation, i have lost all prospective on labor and material costs.

I looked up current leather prices. I'm thinking in supplies alone, you will need a whole leather hide/2 sides which will cost $300-450 for a whole hide depending on leather weight & grade. $60 in buckles & dots, so I'm thinking you will have $360-$510 in supplies at best. I'm unsure what to charge for labor. Also by Risk Mans photos I cant tell what the textured leather is on the lid of saddle bag for sure, but I'm thinking it is either water buffalo or elephant by the texture/pattern on the leather. Possibly bullhide, but usually bullhide has a tighter texture/pattern.

Also I've found a set of saddle bags very similar to those, but they are plain black leather saddle bags. You could buy them, then buy your leather twill & fringe, then buy your metal leather dots. Then hand sew the twill&fringe to the bags & add the metal dots. They would look very similar to what Riskman has, & only have about $160-$210 in a set of saddle bags plus your time. I know some people want the real deal or NOS when it comes to restoration parts.

Ok I've looked & cant find the exact ones I found earlier. They were almost identical but were dark brown, figured you could use leather dye & dye them black. Any who! These are the ones I found that are close, they are made by Dowco Willie & max company. I think the plain look the best to add embellishments to. All the reproduction whizzer bags I find are black with white fringe & twill work. Maybe it will help you guys maybe not?
