I still need to try rhino lining on the inside of my clutch cover, few layers would do well I think, but it hasn't been done before that I know of.

When i used to work on and restore old cars, we had this stuff you could buy in a spray can. Rubberized undercoating. Like 3 bucks a can. THAT will deaden sound real well im sure.
