Engine Trouble Is this bad?

Define what the "this" is? I am assuming the threads of that hole for the cover bolt? They look like it was cross threaded, or lightly stripped. Depending on which, if that even is the issue, there are solutions.

The hole in the case right behind the sprocket. Chain broke and twisted all up.

That hole is the back side of the case bolt, it shouldn't effect running as it doesn't expose the crank case to atmospheric pressure, just to be safe though you could plug it up with some jb weld or good epoxy.
