It does seem to have worked out well, although being a perfectionist there are a few things still need doing.
Today I've had the exhaust off and chrome painted it along with the panel gasket that goes with it. It might be worth other people checking that because I am getting some blowby from the exhaust at the manifold joint (sooty streaks) which will reduce power somewhat.
I went out for a run over to a friends last night - 12 miles in all and just under half a tank of fuel - I think these bikes need better than 3v dynamo lighting - although to be fair most of my riding in the dark would be on well lit roads or roads I already know.
Other than replacing the exhaust and some decalling I think the bike is now completely finished. If I could get the money I paid for it or close to that I might look at building another one - most likely a CIF with shifter kit... but I doubt I would get enough to cover another bike if I sold this one.
