Just studded the bike. 220 5/8" screws per tire. 54t sprocket. It's a riot. 48cc motor ported to the max. Guesstimate Just over 20mph max. The bike does 36 on a 44t sprocket.w/ 27.5" tires summer time. 42mph on a 41t w 26" tire mtn. Bike. Loving the studded life. It's got more, I just need to playwith the needle setting. I put in a ngk bp5hs equivalent for the 0*temps and richest setting on the needle. The inaugural run was great.

Sweet. I stud my motorcycle with (#8-1/4?) sheetmetal screws into the knobs, run on the heads. Works great.

Neat idea look on eBay for a bike stud kit but now I run smooth cruiser tread it would give me a flat.
Do you skid on hard braking?

These are minimal screws for minimal traction on wet ice, I don't do hard braking with then on either ice or pavement or it will skid.
My riding is 98% pavement/dirt/mud/logs/moss/rocks and 5% wet ice and snow. Studding it up seriously would harm the 98%.
I just need a little grip when I do encounter wet ice. I know how to apply caution :)
