Ride Maine

:cry:Hi Everybody, the ride will begin at Hannaford's parking lot in Damriscotta, Maine, May 23rd at 10:30.

What an ideal way to explore these Andrew Wyeth landscapes come to life. Astride a bike on little-used back roads, where you can see so much more than while sealed up in a car. There's also nothing like cresting a hill, gliding down the other side and feeling cool, sea-scented air rush past you.

The rich scent of saltwater will waft in the air off the picturesque cove at New Harbor, where fishing boats bob at their moorings and mid-coast Maine stirs awake. The air will be filled with a gentle morning concerto: crying gulls, the clank of halyard hardware against masts, the groan of a wooden dock tugged by the tide.

The ride passes through countless little hamlets, each with a distinct personality: Damariscotta, Bristol, Chamberlain, Newcastle, Ocean Point, Round Pond, Walpole, and New Harbor.

And don't forget to enjoy the Pemaquid cycling loops, visiting shipyards, country stores, a nature center, and the lighthouse at the tip. Check out the Colonial Pemaquid State Historic Site and Fort William Henry.

Please pm me for any and all questions.

Thanks, Scrollerguy
