my 2 stroke 50cc is 4 stroking and i wonder if spark plug gapping can cause this? ive been playing around with the jet needle and i ran it with the c clip on the second notch from the top and it still seems to 4 stroke when i give it little gas when in motion and when I give it wide open throttle it stops. ive also been playing around with the spark plug gap and it is currently gapped to .40. i did notice some increase in torque but i wonder if a too wide of a gap can cause 4 stroking

usually, if gap is too wide it may miss a beat or more - 4-stroking is almost always due to a rich setting

once motor is run in, it will get a bit leaner, then serious tuning can be done - start by going leaner on needle, them maybe a bit lower on float level - very last thing to try is smaller main jet
