So we have reached the end of the vtwin tear down. I give it a b plus for design and a d for execution. So many metal shavings and bearings not driven all the way in.

For giggles I slapped a old fat crank into the case

I tear down all engines that get here. No matter who they come from. Mostly to slap better koyo bearings into them.

I would not go through all the trouble to make a V2 engine and not redirect the transfers.

I think the shortcomings of the engine was in the sync of the two pistons, that's why the broken one.

Yes the way this goes together with two separate cranks and the gears, you can set the firing timing however you want. I'm guessing it is intended for a freewheel setup because there is no clutch.
