Age and value of this Whizzer

Hi, I'm new here and looking for some help. I want to buy a Whizzer repo style and want some ideas of this one I am posting. I posted on Craigslist for a Bike. Got a hit same night. This guy has one he got a estate sale this summer and would sell it for $1000.00 it hasn't run in a few years and doesn't have a title. It was driven around a camp ground. It has 150 miles and some barn rash as shown. Any help guys ? would it be worth 1000.00 and a decent purchase. I should be able to rebuilt the carb. Thanks for the help, please see attached pictures. Yup 99 WC-1 in great shape!
See if you can bring it down to 600.00 and start there.

Yes I did end up buying it for $ 750.00 the mason-man was correct it is a WC 1 1999.
It will need the gas drained out and new oil because it has been setting for around five years.
This is all new to me and will post more once I get it running.

I just bought a new carb for my bike a few weeks ago. My bike has the same motor as yours.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carburetor-...o-Kart-Dirt-Bike-KEIHIN-/351236809810?vxp=mtr The place is called the scooter depot on eBay. $33. The carb is a little different than yours but it works. Other places may have the same even cheaper. For me, this was cheap and easier than messing with a rebuild. Don't pay the inflated prices from places that use the whizzer name! Hope this helps you.

Thanks lillback44, that could be just what I need. I'm going to drain as much gas as possible first to see if she will start, if it gives me trouble than I'll try that carb. Dale

Congradulations DaleD!
When you put in the new gas, also use a gas fuel stabilizer like Sea Foam, our gas is laced with Ethenol. Bad stuff!
If you can, use hi test fuel. Motor runs cooler.

Use a oil that has Zinc in it, www.classiccaroil.com or www.lucasoil.com under hot-rod- high perforamance, if your already using Brad Pen never mind.

Where's lots more info, let's start here first!

Hi Ray, Excellent looking bike you have there !!! I'll have to find some of that oil. I did get it to run several times for a minute or so. I did change the oil, just to get that old oil out. Looks like I'll have to take the carb off and clean completely because I can't keep it running. I use sea foam in my truck so I put a little in the whizzer and some new higher octane fuel. What year is your whizzer. I like your seat in the back location. Dale

Hi Dale, and thanks for the compliments.
Its a 2001 Whizzer PacemakerII

I use a layback seat post made back in 2001, Ill see if I can find one.
The oil is very important. Zinc is one of the key product that's missing from todays oil, was removed because the auto indrusty said it was bad for the smog emissions.(2004)
ClassicCar motor oil has the zinc,high doage of anti-scuff and anti-wear. It helps protect flat tappet motor components from lifter foot scuffing and cam lobe wear.
The 20W50 is best for me, starts out at 20wt helping the top end!
Then goes to 40/50 as the motor continues to warms up.
Most damage comes from a motor that sat for while and cold starts.

No such thing of a multi-grade oil foaming,ALL oils come with anti-foam agents!

Now, for the carb, a good soaking is good and blow out all with air. Remove the main jet and blow it with air,check to see the tiny hole is open.
Now take the little jet just in front of this one and carefully blow it with air and check if you can see a tiny hole that runs through the middle ( it gets clogged very easy and won't let your motor run) if it is colgged clean it with a very find wire and blow it until you see light.

A good copper head gasket is better too.
