Ok, I am motorizing mountain bike I got with a 80cc motor kit. There are cables that run down the bar of the frame. Will the cables interfere? Will the engine be able to mount right over them?

I'm not entirely sure, but I'd cut slots in the engine mount just to be sure. it would be nothing to do with any old ******* file you have laying around

We need "photos" to see exactly what kind of a situation you are dealing with.

Some of the hardware you install with these kits can interfere with the cables. Thankfully though, I don't think I've ever had a clearance issue that I couldn't deal with.

If I ever do run into such a problem, then I suppose I'll just run the cable in a one-piece sheath and fasten that to the frame wherever is handy.

It shouldn't be a really big problem.
