Florida Motorcycle Laws and Definitions

Thank You for That.

Thank you for the info. Im in Tampa and still in the building and fine tuning stage but should be there in the next few weeks. I do have a MC license but that would be something else to think about if you were to fall under that law. It could expensive.

Well that answers another question.. no pedal-assist gas engine bikes. I was thinking of adding a 49cc to a mid-priced mountain bike I bought off a friend (don't know the make/model), but I also want to get SOME exercise in my busy day.

So when you have a chain/belt (i.e. not friction) gas motor it takes over propulsion and you can't pedal to make it go even faster?

I'm sure you could pedal faster, however if it's a single speed, your legs would be moving a mile a minute... I mean, why would you want to pedal after engaging the engine...
Just shut off the engine and pedal..
OR
Buy an electric bicycle with pedal assist and you'll be fine...
Just make sure you can't travel more than 30mph,
OR
Just get the motorcycle endorsement on your current license and buy a motorcycle if you want to go more than 30mph.
