I'm pretty sure you leave plate blank for section "A"

From what I've read, others put the serial of the bike for VIN and the serial on the motor for engine number.

There probably isn't one. Make one up and then put it on the motor. No one is going to question what you put on the form as long as its on the motor as well.

In CA it is probably not legal to make up a serial number?
BUT we have been told to inscribe our CA DL number in possesions?

Whynot put dl # on your engine, and if questioned tell them, "it's mine and I put my dl# on it for identification"

I think since it is a kit you have the right to put on your engine whatever number you want. Also a key shop could stamp the number on for you.

Vin number needed of Calif. licence form

So, has anybody used their own coded vin number in Calif? Did it work with out using the above formula? I was ready to send the form with the bike frame number with eighteen dollars. I better wait .:???::???:

Hi as far as I know vin in a legal number assigned to manufacturers. I would NOT mess with that area at all.

Your bike HAS a name, and a serial number USE those! those are legally assigned to that bicycle!

It is the engine that needs(?) a number, just number the engine, you could even put part of the bike serial (or all of it) on the engine.
