Hello! I've been viewing this forum and others like it for the past 5 or more years. Motored bikes have appealed to me ever since switching to recumbents for most of my cycling 8 years ago. Recumbents tend to be heavier than most other bikes, offer less wind resistance on downhills and flats, but are pretty tough to take up hills because there's no way to stand over the pedals and use the weight of the body in pushing the pedals.

Anyway, I'm curious about the various ways that you all have motorized your craft, and want to learn and participate.

p.s. I've been working on a way to integrate a motor into a drivetrain, that would utilize all the existing gears on a bike, front chainrings as well as the rear cluster. Engineering is just finishing up. In the next couple months I'll post a video of it in action, and see what people think. :-/
