Hey there. I'm new to the world of motorbikes and was hoping I could find some answers here on this forum.
I live close by (a little under 2 miles) to where I work and I do not have a car of my own (Saving money). But recently I've wanted to get out a bit more to a couple of the surrounding towns on my days off from work, but still not wanting to purchase a car or use public transport. So I did a bit of research and stumbled upon the idea of getting a motorized bike.
I'm hoping I can get some answers to a few questions pertaining to my situation:
I have a budget of about 500-600$, will this be enough to get me started?
Are some bikes better than others for putting engines on them? I mean could I like go to walmart, grab a crappy 100ish dollar bike and be fine with an engine on it?
Also, I don't have much mechanical skill, but I also won't ever be riding more than 20 miles in a given day, how much do I have to worry about maitenance?
Thank you in advanced!
