So i think my mag it not working?

Do i have to use a puller to see the mag? Im a little new to the whizzer as far as working on them i have a brand new. Whizzer from 1999 it was in my grandfathers shed. An i talked him in to saling it to me an it runs great but a buddy of mine has one with no spark i did the check list an i think its the mag not the cdi an im not sure how to get to the mag i think i need a puller just want to make sure i have to pull it befor i do. If some one can help me out i would be very greatfull thank you guys an God bless. An sorry for the spelling guys
