This is what I pulled out of my friend's carb.

Little cleaning never hurts a carb.
It's funny cause I can shut engine off & restart it & it wont act up for 6months or longer, but there could be something floating around in carb. It's the second time it's been mentioned. Plus will be a good time to pop cylinder head off & check things in there.

Ok everyone, rode the Sparesbrook fairly hard today. But what causes or where to look for problem on a intermittent high revving condition, other than a air leak? It's only happened twice, once bout 6months ago, & once today. I shut bike off or kill it with clutch & start bike back up & it never happens again & runs perfectly fine. It's not a consistent enough for me to really worry bout. But it bugs me, I'm thinking some kinda air leak, but I cannot get it to act up as soon as I shut bike off & restart symptom is gone & wont act back up for 6months or so.
You may have solved the problem, but I still say it's a lack of high quality Scotch in the gullet.

I would recommend an indica skunk with some Moroccan 0/0 balled up with it... Would make the tillotson diagram more pleasurable...

Lol kinda liking making my own hours, my little side jobs are keeping the Bill's paid. So really not complaining. If i want to take a nap in the middle of the day i can. So where are you thinking I should be looking? For problem.
