Lost or broke your Woodruff key? Well I might be able to help you with that.
If you have some old DC motors laying around, like you would find in a walking robot or a submarine or whatever kind of toy, measure the diameter of the shaft of the motor as most Motors have hardend/tempered drive shafts and if you able to successfully extract them from the motor and the winding and the stator and all of that you have a perfectly hard perfectly shapeable piece of metal that will not break that is tempered and will last. I'm not saying that it is a permanent replacement but in a pinch this will get you back on the road.
