Do you have compression if you put your finger (or thumb) over the plug hole?

i have it running on a tecumseh carb that was fabricobled on. that narrows it down, to a flat tank top, or a bad spring. i broke the choke rod, so im gonna have to 3d print one. it is a fixed jet carb, and i cant remove the jet, to get to the emulsion tube, since it is cast in. im gonna pull the welch plug, and maybe the balls, assuming i can get the oversized balls from briggs, or crossref the numbers over to mcmaster

I made a whole new intake manifold and run a PZ19 on my 3hp mini bike. Runs good and can pop a wheelie.

Hey, for what it's worth, there's a reason why ethanol free gas is better for carburetors, the ethanol will screw up anything rubber.... but I agree, if it runs on starting fluid, it's not getting the correct fuel/air ratio, and that's all carburetor.

Pony up for a new carb, shouldn't be too much, then you will be able to grin again.
