E-Bike Industrial Design project (with survey)

survey answered.

My 2 cents. Pursue lithium iron. Forget lead and other chemistry. If the bike is to be 20mph max, locate the batteries centrally in the frame. If you must locate the batteries on the back, do not put them high on top of a rack. It makes the bike near impossible to park in a bike rack because of the stationary CG. It also makes it a beast to handle at stop lights.

So I guess you are directly competing with the ~ $400 ezip trailz series....

What price are you shooting for? There are some pretty cheap frames from $100-200 leaving not much more for the system.

$400 is pretty hard to beat for a bike+ a currie drive system... I have never rode one but from numerous diy designs it seems like a deal... if it works

I am also a youngin at 24.... have built 4 ebikes and 4 2strokers now.... hub motors and front crank freewheels from sick bike parts....will only do electric from now on. :D

Goodluck!
