Hello I am a newbie to home made friction drive bikes.

I just built my first friction drive bike and took a spin around my development. Everything worked perfectly. I used a storm door closer to put constant pressure on my friction drive which is a 3/4" long socket with a 1" I'd rubber hose placed over it. It slipped and melted. Has anyone tried using an epoxied serpentine belt against the tire. What is your opinion please. Respectfully - Paul

Hi Paul, check out the friction section. One of the guys is using a wood roller, others use metal.
