No spark at plug unless I am touching spark plug

getting 1-25 milli-volts DC (irratic) and 27 AV volts------ at spark plug cap

Also tried cleaning ground surfaces of the stator to engine also... no change

Tried adding a grnd wire (during my first try), still no spark..... In the dark, with spark plug out and connected to coil n grounded to engine, I did try with a variable speed drill as a starter to spin the flywheel and at low rpms got no spark but when I revved the rpms higher I got a spark, sometimes intermittent and continuous at times and weak and strong sparks. The front light on the bike comes on with a steady voltage, no flickering.

Get a new CDI just replace one this morning it work!

Rechecked all my readings and the stator is the one with way off readings from original readings when functioning. $125 plus $45 shipping... in my bucket list

DiBlasi, what type of engine is this? Is this a regular motorcycle or a Happy times 2 stroke, 4 stroke 49cc? Motorcycles have stators that produce a/c electric and use a rectifier to convert to d/c v. Maybe we're talking apples and oranges here.

if it your stator, I'd just get one of these if possible and re wire it, i've done it with many mopeds and so far it works
i get these from 20-88$ depending on area being shipped
