I.had to gob high temp around one of them in order to get it to stop stalling with a spray bottle and water and it still chirps

I get confused about it aswell automotive I thing it's piston squench. Two stroke guy seem to call it a squish.

@Chainlube is that an unused head you have laying around? The mating surface being casted is so friggen bad lol

i know you better than that. will be sanded flat like it should be for sure. that made a big difference to my build, and it makes sense. flat = complete contact for the head gasket. i have 2 extra head and jug / piston kits as well. haven't touched them. they are sitting in oil lol.

You look at the surface finish after a few passes with a file?


It looks smooth but it really aint.

These intakes are nice but they have tiny holes in them sometimes. Drove me mad one time trying to find it.

Run a mini ball hone through it.

How bad did I do with these bevels?

They're rounded off and then I use a fine pointed half moon file and out on the shallowest angle I can.

I usually use a Dremel with a 3ft pencil attachment with 6in bit cut down to diffent lengths. I'm actually really happy that I decided to learn with a file. You have much more control and finess.
