No spark

80 cc new motor and have changed everything electrical. New mag, new magnet, new cde’s (x2), new wire and new plugs and still no spark. And yes the kill switch is unhooked. What am I missing here.

Did you gap the mag with a business card or folded dollar

Flip your magnet around on the engine, magneto rotor. With engine at TDC position,
magnet should be pointing in the 1:00 O'clock posistion.

It is possible to have the magnet reversed. With the crank at TDC, the keyway on the shaft should be in about the 1 o'clock position. Also, these engines need to be spinning pretty fast for the mag to generate a good spark.

I was using a cordless drill to crank with. I'll try it on a higher speed and try that thanks.

I would avoid the drill start... It's only going to be problems

Try this, remove the coil and sand the back side so you have a solid contact with the engine. Sand the area where the black wire grounds also.

I've done that also.

I would avoid the drill start... It's only going to be problems

I was using it to try to start. I have a pull start for it.
