Having the pulse port on the intake side will still provide a positive pressure. When the air/fuel flow is stopped by the closing of the piston port or a reed valve closing the flow of air slams against the blockage creating a positive pressure.

Thank you for your interest, the Walbro I'm using has an inlet diameter of 19mm and an outlet diameter of 16mm.
The pick up point for the pulse tube is on the crankcase side of the reeds so all will be sweet.
