Vintage Drop Stand Project

I scaled some photos and came up with a pretty good interpretation of a vintage drop stand. I modeled it in SolidWorks and added it to my 3D rendered bike. It seems to work. I'm going to print out the plans and attempt to make it from 3/4" aluminum edge channel and braze it together with HTS-2000 aluminum repair rod. It should be pretty strong (atleast to hold up the bike) and serve the intended purpose. Tell me what you guys think... pics to come in the upcoming weeks...

I just measured my bike against the dimensions I made for the model and I think I want to lengthen it by an inch. This will give the tire good clearance and when the stand is swung around the back of the wheel to the up position, it will rest on the rear of the frame just under the seat. It will blend in with the rest of the frame when painted...I hope.
