Ordered some new parts, got a question...

I dont know the brand of my seat post because it came with the bike new but theres no swivel in it at all, its spring loaded and can be adjusted as far as the tension of the spring. Its not a cure all but it helps and I weigh 210 lbs.

I just bought a similar susp. post for 14.99, it is possibly the same one. It seems very durable, I will install it tomorrow and test it. I had considered the Thudbuster but the steep price has held me back. I just hope this cheapie will hold me up LOL....

I think I'd better clear up the "swivel", what the shock absorber seat posts have is maybe 1/8"-1/4" inch of left/right play, while the regular standard seat post (when everything is torqued) doesn't.

That's what I've experienced with brand new Comfort bikes, which have the shock as standard.

It's NO biggie, just a different feel. Tighten all the nuts on the saddle and quick release, and it is minimized.

solid is a good feeling !!

they have caught my eye way more than once
but I don't think I want any movement in seat post area
not up and down and for sure not side to side

at the least all bicycles already have so as to help with bumps
air in the tires -- adjusting air pressure makes big differences in ride
soft big spring loaded seats -- nice on the rear end THING

and some have shocks

solid is a good feeling !!!

as we ride that MB thing

A slight swivel to the one's I've used. It's a matter of getting used to it.

There's not a lot of improvement with short trips, but, the longer the trip, the more it helps! You can ride longer and be less tired.

And, the area where it's helped me the most, has been in reduced back strain/pain.

I got my seat post today and it's great! I really smoothed out the bumps. There is a little swivel to it, but it's not that bad.

But I now have a blown rear bearing and have to go to the shop tomorrow and get a new one. Good thing it happened while slowing down for an intersection. The wheel just started dragging and then just locked. Oh well... things happen.
