don't lose hope or interest, there are other sites that are similar. Maybe a little less "political" as well.

True.dat There are other great discussion communities, with just a little googling, are easy to find.

And keep riding, regardless of a forum on the internet. Riding a motorized bicycle is your choice, and no one elses to make but you.

Of course the other option is just to ignore threads dedicated to blathering on about this or that and stick to bikes....but perhaps some people are not familiar with the concept of baby and bath water.

I like both sites. Not illegal in the least. Follow the rules.

    Sacrilege, LOL

I wish the other site had decals. That way I could put both on my bike

    Big amen there!

I just don't get internet swan songs. If it's time to move on, just do so 'cause in the scheme of things it just ain't that important. The show goes on.

IMO, as far as technical content goes, this is the best site out there.

I'm inclined to agree with you Happy Valley and Houghmade.

I suppose those who do it do so because their feelings are hurt. I can sympathize with that and wish that sort of thing didn't need to happen.

I can think of a few folks who I've not seen in a while and I miss them. As far as I know they didn't say any good-byes.
It all comes down to the same thing in the end. They seem to be gone. Whether they said so or not didn't have any real effect.

I hope that at least some of them come back. Some will, I suppose. Others won't. And there's nothing else to do about it but wish them the best of luck.

It is nobler to just "not sign on" and take a few weeks or months of a break.

Making a big deal out of slamming the door has zero effect in the electronic scheme of things, especially when 5-10 are coming though the entrance. It's like an ant gone AWOL, the nest stays active.

Just ignore the folks that bug you, or take an e-vacation. I've done it many a time.

I agree too, no one cares if you want to leave....
especially if you keep on leaving over and over again :devilish:

It's Tom's website and he can make up whatever rules that he wants....
He can even sell the whole website to whoever for as much as he can get
    whenever he pleases.

You can always start up your own forum and do it your way or make
an anti forum that deals with motorized bicycles........

Why rent when you can own?
Think about where you put your time and energy......I am....

    I just don't understand...I don't want to.

I have a wife of 16 years and 4 kids, 11 and under. What happens with them is important to me and I expend a lot of energy trying to make sure things go well for them.

I am an equity partner in a law firm. I have clients who depend on me for real-life, serious help. I have partners and employees who depend on me for their livelihood. In these times, law firms are being hit hard. It's tough. I expend a lot of energy trying to make things go well there as well.

My motored bike is my hobby. It is a fun hobby and I love it. This site (others too) have been a huge help to me in finding answers and I really enjoy helping when I can...but it's a HOBBY.

I don't like the idea that someone may get their feelings hurt or feel attacked or offended...but c''s a web forum. I honestly do not understand getting so exercised that you not only quit the site, but feel the need to take that long journey into night in a public manner. The world revolves around none of us. Hard truth to face.

I get mad sometimes at what I read here and I can be a bit offensive myself at times but this Forum has the answers and the knowledge base and without it I would know very little about motorised bikes. Also I am inordinately fond of all the good guys who have given me amazing help over the last 30 months. Then there are the really funny postings that give me a great laugh. I sometimes wish we could be a united force helping to effect change where it is really in our interests such as pressurising manufacturers to meet our needs and effecting changes to the law to promote motored bikes as the most realistic alternative to guzzling cars etc. but that is probably wishful thinking. Whatever happens I'll be staying for the ride.
