Does everyone turn their engines off by pushing the kill button? I was reading a post about it can hurt the cdi. I don’t know if that is true just thought I would ask.

My CDI is 13 years old with 5000 hours of use on it and has gone through several spark plugs.
However, I'd prefer the safety of a Kill Switch over the price of a CDI any day. If you're that concerned, carry a spare CDI in your road side repair tool kit with you on rides.
I usually just stall mine with the clutch.
No way I'd ride any bike without a kill switch, if you have ever had the throttle stick wide open, that's what the kill switch is for.
