Hello Group,
I just bolted up a Staton kit to my new Schwinn Searcher, a Mitsubishi 43cc. I went for
the friction drive just to see what it would do and I'm impressed how it moves my
230lbs over the asphalt. This is all new to me and I guess a chain drive is in my
future. I suppose what that will mean is a lesser tendency to pedal in order to help
preserve the tire from roller wear. I would appreciate comments on just what a chain
drive will do for me, and is it a painless change over from the friction drive? I believe
the cost is abt $150 for the additional hardware. (NOT PAINLESS)
I now believe I made a mistake on choosing a bike with an extra heavy frame, but as
a newbie I'm entitled to a few dumb moves. I don't even see a need for the SEVEN
gear speeds..... On my second ride I managed to lose the **** gas cap and have
been looking all over for something that will work as I believe Statons price and
shipping to be out of line. I found a cap that will work until I get lucky.
cheers & beers one and all,
Radioman
