as for the seat post, i think if you have the seat post lowered as much as possible into the frame tube with no seat post coming out of the tube, then it should be ok.
with the seat raised up high, and the rider weight there's a lot of stress on that area because the seat will act like a lever.
I chopped my seat post to lower it, and then welded a standard seat post inside of it so i could bolt a regular 10 speed seat to it. I personally hate the stock o.c.c seats because they are the most uncomfortable, and one of the ugliest seats out there.
