For a big V8 or straight six, sure. 4k doesn't even touch the powerband on many smaller engines. I regularly wind my Versa's little 1.6 to 5k when getting on the highway. 106hp is all it has to work with, and it makes that at 6k lol.

Hell, my VFR barely starts making proper power at 4k rpm. It's happy at 4500 to 5000 for highway riding.
I was referring to price lol

Got this at the local gas station today

I've never gone very high on a car--highest MAYBE 4k, in my life

But I've never been blessed enough to drive a manual (though I'm pretty sure I know how...)

Car I normally drive is a toyota sienna with over 130,000 on it
Hehehe, I tag redline at least 5 times a week, 7500RPM.

Cars actually love it as long as they are warmed up.

I had a 90 Miata, 280K you had to shift @4K or else you aren't keeping up with traffic.

You can barely find something running on all cylinders for 3K now days. My first car was $2600 and that was back in 2006.
Meh, I like getting things running. I paid 500 bucks for my pickup and had it running in another 100. I've put another 2000 into it from selling off my other cars. But that was unnecessary

My first car was $850 in 1999. Ran and drove that big old tank of a Buick for 3 years until the pump on the transmission took itself out. That story is pure laughs for another day 😅

I replaced it with a $550 1987 Honda Prelude that I drove for another 2 years until I got tired of it. 6ft 6 me (at that time) fit, but barely.

Hell, I bought a 1981 E150 6cyl 4 speed manual van in 2007 for $200 that needed a front right caliper rebuild and a battery. It ran and drove. I mainly used it as a storage locker and means to drive to the store when I was a trucker.

I miss being able to pick up an old car like that for a couple hundred.
