How about a 49cc Lifan 4 stroke to clear the air?

Yes, there is a lifan 50cc fully auto single speed, I got one for my motoped, but it is really slow - they come in little kids quads. I rode around with it for a couple months, let the cops get used to seeing me, then I put in my semi-auto with a big bore kit. Another trick you can do with a semi-auto is take the shifter off while you ride on the street and carry the shifter in your pocket for when you get off-road. If you take the shifter off a semi-auto it's exactly the same thing as a single speed with an automatic clutch - like every other motorized bike.

Rig a paddle shifter on the handlebars. Just roll off the throttle and shift!

Van - From your description of top speed (70) and being able to take off without pedaling - either there is some sort of CVT in there or the centrifugal clutch is doing a lot of slipping!

Is there a model number on the engine? (Like 1P52FMI or something similar)

Alaskan - I'd like to know that as well, because my fully auto Lifan is definetly only a single speed.

After further web research there is a 49cc Lifan with a 1 speed box and auto clutch.

As stated earlier it looks to be used in youth ATV applications and comments stated they were "really slow" with really low gearing (but probably mounds of torque)

Im guessing for safety's sake so lil Bobby and Sally dont hurt themselves too much..too early in life..

So who has a 40 tooth chain ring for a JC Higgins rear coaster Rim compatible with motorcycle chain??? :devilish:
JUST KIDDING!

I think the Higgins is getting my last 49cc kit for shizz and giggles..

But that Mo-bike thingy looks like my next buildup as soon as I find out if I can tag it as a MC in Jersey and finally scoot around on something legal and more efficient than my 93 Subaru (it only averages 30 MPG..lol)

I'll try to remember to look for a serial# or something tomorrow. However, I don't recall saying mine is 50cc. I often do say that anything above 50cc would probly be illegal. I don't remember exactly what mine is.

Looking at the Lifan Group website, they do list some 70-100cc horizontal Honda style engines with auto clutch single speed, and two speed "auto-wave" transmissions. I have no clue what an "auto-wave" transmission is............
