Has anyone found a way to mount the GX50 to the frame and used
a gearbox for it? This engine does not have mounting holes. Seems
like it would also have great potential for frame mount. It's a
super engine.

Pictures. We like pics, is the gx50 like the gx35 honda? Here is a honda gx35 I'm wanting to do something similar as you speak. I'm working on a mounting solution, but think will have to loose the fuel tank & use a gravity feed fuel tank.

I am not sure about the GX35 since I don't own one, but the GX 50
has no mounting holes. Connections are normally made by
using the clutch bolts directly for yard equipment, etc.

The GX50 must be a new honda item. My gx35 honda utilizes the clutch bell mounting bolt holes as well for mounting. I'm aware of the honda gxh50 but it's a 5/8" straight shaft.

The clutch bell holes are perfect for friction drive but not for frame mounting which
requires holes at the bottom of the engine. I did once see an "L" shaped mount
which uses the clutch bell holes. It could work for frame mounting. LIke this:

Helio sells honda gxh50 powered bicycles. From the pix, it looks like the motors mount very much like the Hua Sheng 49cc.

Looks can be deceiving tho...

Of course, you know there is a big difference between the GX50
and the GXH 50. They are not the same engine.

Yes, but it's 2 stroke. I'm trying to avoid 2 strokes. Looks like a great
engine though which could be frame mounted.
