High-Performance Carb For Mitsubishi Engines

Here is the top plate, the small black dot is an carb pulse hole (I think), and the larger black circle is the large carb bore diameter location. The front screws were made with flat, counter-sunk pieces because the large carb will actually be over them (with a gasket).

Here's a shot of them mocked all together, the blind tapped holes have already been drilled.

The reason for the separate top plate ?
The large carb bore and air/fuel slot locations do not line up directly in line with the cylinder head. The "intake manifold" will need to be bored at a slight angle.

What Hawaii Ed said. :geek:

Thanks pal, for the pictures and explanation.

Ed and I are going surfing at Ala Moana Park Saturday.

You guys are all welcome to join us.

One's Done!

One completed and another one to go!

The two-piece bolt-on adaptor is a thing of beauty. The aluminum scrap I bought on ebay is BILLET and took to polishing very well.

Hawaii Ed will be along soon with pictures.

Awesome fabrication work!

Thanks to Glen, Kristie Ann and Chaz.:D

BTW, I asked and Glen is not interested in fabricating carb adaptors for sale.

Some quality work on this piece! :D

Here is the original piece, and the finished adapter. Can't wait to see how that thing runs!

Both Carb Adaptors Are Done!!!

Glen the master fabricator completed both adaptors today!!!:devilish:

Each adaptor will mount a Walbro adjustable carb onto my TLE43 Mitsubishi engines on "The Dragon Lady".

Before I mount and tune the carburetion setup, I need to get "The Iron Dragon" reliable enough to commute to work. If not I'll be pedalling a 12-mile roundtrip to the office every day. Don't wanna do that, 'cause I'm a senior citizen in good but not excellent condition.

Glen also welded an exhaust bracket for my other bike "The Iron Dragon". It's a 24-speed Giant Rincon with single(for now) GP460 engine. This engine should make 5.5hp, whereas my twin Mits engines might produce maybe 3.5hp each with high-performance carbs and expansion chambers.

"The Dragon Lady" weighs over 90lbs while "The Iron Dragon" tips the scales at less than 60lbs.

Time will tell if the Walbro carbs work well with the Mits engines. I don't know of anyone else who have mated these carbs and engines.

Time will tell.:geek:
