New 80 cc motor clutch won't release

It's been awhile since I built a ht motor I remember that from sitting in Warehouse they're stuck dried out grease. I've pulled the bucking bar put some grease in hole, pulled the clutch cover it's getting plenty of movement, but I tightened the flower nut up a little but still no release. I'm thinking of of wedging a little wood between small bevel gear and clutch gear and gently rock it back and forth. Any suggestions ??

Squeeze lever in and tap the clutch plate with a hammer
