Hi, Just wanted to introduct myself, I have a Trek Navigator with an 81cc
4-cycle friction drive. Stopped by the DMV yesterday and picked up a plate for it for $34!

Wow, I guess you got lucky! Or someone there did not know the law, under 50cc is the law, anyway good for you!

I left the 81cc part out, but even at that, I thought it was going to be a hassle given what I have read on the internet. Other than the people there being a bit confused, I was in and out of there in no time.

I was wondering how u did it. I did not tell them I was over 5 hp.

I just wrote a letter with the words "Ownership Affidavit" at the top. It listed that I was the owner of the bike, I listed the bike name and serial, the engine name and serial, stated that it was not capible to exceed 30mph. I also brought a picture, but it was not needed.
