Swapped a magneto and the metal arms don't rub the magnet?

Is that going to be a problem? Will it run? Do I have to take apart the old magneto and swap the arms with the new one? There's about a 1/8th inch between the top and bottom.

The other one was shaffing tight. If it doesn't start I'm going to have to swap arms. Shorted about a week ago, wouldn't go over 5mph
