Nice, those plates will give you a good foundation for additional bracing on the motor mount, as well as fill in that gap. Never did like that gap below my motor mount.

Some slow progress
Looks great!

I mounted my motor plate to a 1" square tube welded I first across the frame, then just used tiny gussets under that but this looks way better :). I'm trying to minimize weight a bit since its already so far past expected, so the less amount of thick plate I can add the better!

Wow- too long gone. I will be doing more today and taking pics.
When we last saw our hero, he had a lovely engine mount plate and fancy curvy braces 😁
Well, upon close inspection I found the plate to be out abou 2* from square. 💩
It may not have been a problem but I didn’t like it. So grind grind wack grind- out it came.
Pics later

So yesterday didn’t go due to a family emergency, not my family, my friends. So today the under place braces were welded in place. And we stood back and stared and thought for a while. Also removed kick stand. And concluded I will have to go with paint rather than powder coating.

Just curious as to why paint her and not powder coat?
Good question- the honest answer is the welds. They are not looking so good. I could try to meticulously grind them to a smooth state but I don’t think I can get them to a place that I would be satisfied with. My understanding is that with powder coat is bare metal only and no good way to hide flaws. If I paint I can bondo till the cows come home and hid a multitude of sins.
If someone has better information please share

You have it exactly right. The only way to improve is to make the welds high enough, so when you're done grinding you can file them smooth.

boogers dry to be sandable and stick pretty well
While this is true- Boogers do not resist heat well enough to powder coat. However I found something that might work (or they claim to work)
Any one tried this stuff? https://www.alvinproducts.com/ "lab-metal" - I will throw this out in the paint forum as well.
